Perez aims to rebuild Real Madrid as he gets re-elected as president

Florentino faced no opponents in the presidential election and will be Real Madrid’s president until 2021

Considering the recent success of Real Madrid at domestic and continental level, there’s no doubt that Florentino Perez is the right man to guide Real Madrid for the period ahead. The club managed to win back to back Champions League titles for the first time since the new format of the competition has been established, while they also triumphed in La Liga.

This was a long-term project by both Perez and his selected employers. A side that has the perfect balance of grit, arrogance, youth and skill as well as club identity considering there are as much as 6 players heavily involved in the first team.

But what can Real Madrid fans expect from their beloved team in the next four years?

Can Real continue to be the best team in the world without changing it’s core? Allegations of tax fraud have urged Cristiano Ronaldo to push for an exit after eight years, while the likes of Pepe, Fabio Coentrao, Morata, James Rodriguez and possibly a few others appear destined to leave Real as early as this summer.

Veteran stars such as Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric, Benzema and Marcelo will likely remain to lead the rejuvination program on the field and help create a side that will be both closer to Real Madrid’s ethos and capable of dominating European football.

The policy of resigning departed academy players has given mixed results for both Real and Barcelona on the pitch, but the two giants learned how important homegrown players can be in maintaining the profile that made them who they are today which is the world’s best football clubs.

Loan stars such as Marcos Llorente, Diego Llorente, Jesus Vallejo and Burgui could be given an opportunity to join Carvajal, Nacho and Lucas Vasquez to help maintain the Los Blancos identity. All of them are coming from seasons where they played regularly for their loan clubs and are good enough to patch up the holes from the impending departures.

However, the “galactico” segment has always been and still is a big part of who Real Madrid are. Perez being the one to restart the movement in the summer of 2000, will likely pursue big-name signings to maintain that segment of the club’s profile as well.

The possible departure of Ronaldo for an opportunist like Perez wouldn’t mean the end of the world. A go-getter like Real Madrid’s president will already have contacted possible targets through their agents or even personally and it’s usually offers that the other party cannot refuse.

We all saw how a fan favorite like Gianluigi Donnarumma has had a change of heart about his AC Milan future these days. The 18-year-old goalkeeper is reportedly ready to switch his allegiance to the Spanish giants next summer in a record transfer for a goalkeeper.

Another badly kept secret by Real is their pursuit of French and Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe. The deal could possibly break the world transfer record in order for the 18-year-old to move to Madrid.

The brilliant part?

-These moves will all be part-funded by the sales of Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez who should still generate at least 150 million euros. Should Ronaldo also get his desired move, then Real Madrid could record unseen profits for the past year while also breaking two transfer records themselves.

Simply Florentino!
