The Yankees and Orioles October match up seems like the perfect ending to their September rivalry. Baltimore spent most of the month hot on the heels of New York, while the Yankees spent most of it trying to shrug them off their tail. The chance to finally prove who deserves the top spot makes this match up one of the most exciting of the postseason. Baltimore is definitely the underdog of this duo. In fact not many believed they would make it past the wild card game. But they’ve played a remarkable season thus far and nothing could change that now.

Division rivals isn’t what comes to mind when you think of these two teams but a rivalry just might be in the making this October. With a 9-9 regular season series split, the determination from both sides will make for an exciting postseason. As far as records go they were nearly identical. In fact, they finished with the exact same batting average with RISP.
The Yankees bring experience to the postseason but the Orioles bring an unmistakable momentum.
2012 ALDS Predictions
I think there are a lot of baseball fans that would love to see the underdog win in this situation. Whether that will happen has a lot to do with how well Baltimore holds up against New York’s pitching staff. With a sequence of CC Sabathia, Andy Pettitte, and Hiroki Kuroda, the Orioles offense is going to need to get to work early. The series will be highlighted by big at bats and great pitching. Baltimore’s unwavering edge will be their determination to prove they belong in the postseason after all. If they keep going on the path they have been, the Orioles take it in 4.

Wow! That was an amazing game last night. Looks like we have ourselves a series!
What a night for Raul Ibanez. Tying HR in the 9th and the walkoff in the 12th. AMAZING!
