Tiger Woods will play in The Barclays, the first of the PGA Tour’s four FedExCup Playoffs events, according to a report posted on his website.
Woods, the current FedExCup points leader, won the series in both 2007 and 2009. Woods nearly won at Liberty National Golf Course in 2009, the last time the course in Jersey City, N.J., hosted the event.
Woods is coming off a 40th-place finish at the PGA Championship. That showing marked the end of five full seasons without a major title for Woods, who has been stuck on 14 since capturing the 2008 U.S. Open.
Information from ESPN.com’s Bob Harig was used in this report.
