List of NHL Stanley Cup Winners
In 1927 with the folding of the Western Hockey League (WHL), the National Hockey League (NHL) became the only league competing for the Stanley cup. These are the teams that have competed in the NHL finals since that year. Since then, the Montreal Canadiens have taken home the trophy 22 times – more times than any other team. The Red Wings and Maple Leafs have each won the trophy 11 times.
