According to Adam Jahns on twitter (@adamjahns), Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears suffered ligament damage to his thumb in the week one game against the Houston Texans. Cutler, who didn’t look particularly sharp in the Monday Night game against the Philadelphia Eagles was apparently playing through that injury.

Cutler exited last night’s game in the third quarter, after his second turnover of the night – an interception. Cutler was seen wearing a cast on his hand after the game. John Fox is set to address the media today, and will likely provide a status update on his QB. Cutler had surgery on that same thumb in 2011 and was quoted as saying “I’m concerned. As a quarterback, you kind of need your right thumb.”
