Week 12 Early Waiver Wire Pickups to Consider

If you’re anal like me and like to get ahead of the game in picking up waiver wire players and/or free agents, then you’re ahead of the game. If not, there’s still a chance for you late-comers. There wasn’t a huge injury list for Week 11, but some significant changes to depth charts around the league can help those who need someone just for Week 12 or for the remainder of the year.

QB’s to look for on the wire:

#Bucs Jameis Winston – In Yahoo leagues, Winston is owed only in 25% of leagues. In a pinch, he can be very formidable, especially with a remaining schedule of the #Colts, #Falcons, #Saints, #Rams and #Bears.

#Texans Brian Hoyer – It has already been reported earlier on Monday that Hoyer is expected to start against the #Saints. Did you hear that? The #Saints are back from bye! Hooray to all fantasy football owners of Hoyer & Hopkins this week!

RB’s to look for on the wire:

#Ravens Javorius “Buck” Allen – Although Forsett hasn’t had the same output of production as he did last year, it is still a big blow for fantasy teams. If Allen is still lurking on your waivers, hurry and pick him. With season-ending injuries to him & Flacco, I expect the #Ravens to rely on running the ball a lot more.

#Chiefs Spencer Ware – Although we aren’t sure how severe Charcandrick West’s injury is at this point, we still need to have Ware handcuffed with West in the event he gets another injury and will miss some time.

#Colts Ahmad Bradshaw – Seeing Bradshaw getting goal-line work versus the #Falcons was a bit alarming, especially for Frank Gore owners. I’m not sure what is going on with the backfield situation, but Bradshaw needs to be on many radars.

WR’s to look for on the wire:

#Cowboys Terrance Williams – With Tony Romo back, I expect Williams to stop impersonating Homer Simpson fading into the bushes and start producing again. He did just that in Week 11 against the #Dolphins with 4 receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown. He could be a good flex play.

#Panthers Devin Funchess – With Corey Brown out in Week 11, Funchess had 4 recs for 64 yards and a touchdown. He brings size to the Panthers offense that has been missing since Benjamin went down and I think he will get even more targets going forward.

TE’s to look for on the wire:

#Ravens Crockett Gilmore – If this guy is still on waivers, your league must be sleeping and not paying attention. At any rate, Schaub loves the TE and I expect Gilmore to field a lot of targets with Flacco gone for the year.
