Dak Prescott: The Mark of a Champion

With another win under his belt, Dak Prescott and the Dallas cowboys have put together a nice six game winning streak. After tonight’s come from behind win, Dak Prescott has solidified his starting position and also showed that even when he is not playing well, and the game is not going his way, he is able to bounce back and grind out the victory. This week he did it over the now 4-3 Eagles to give the Cowboys a nice two game lead in the NFC East.

“Winners are guys who get the job done even when they aren’t at their best,” former Super Bowl-winning coach Tony Dungy said on NBC after the game. “That was Dak Prescott tonight.”

Dak Prescott is a winner, and he proved that big time on the biggest stage tonight in Dallas. Down 10, and with a 48 passer rating so far in the game, Prescott did what was needed in order to earn his team the win. He would eventually orchestrate the game winning drive in overtime to seal the deal. There was so much talk over the Wentz vs Prescott matchup all week and during the game. But what stood out was Prescott’s poise, he was not shaken although he had a rough outing. He threw an interception, he got hit (many times) and yet the young qb kept coming back for more. He didn’t get scared in the pocket, he stayed in and made the throws he needed to. Never backing down and never giving up.

This is the type of guy you want leading your team. Dak Prescott showed tonight that he is a winner, that he has the Mark of a Champion. Even as the biggest Cowboy’s fan in the world, I thought this one was over and that for sure they were going to give up on Dak and start Tony next week. But Dak came back and showed that this season belongs to him. What a game and what a quarterback. Things look great in Dallas.
