Chicago Cubs 9 – 3 Cleveland Indians
Addison Russell wasn’t about to let the Cubs go quietly into the dark night. The 22 year old shortstop plated a World Series record six RBI, highlighted by his mammoth grand slam in the third inning as Chicago forced a game seven.
Nothing went the Indians way, as they found themselves in a 3-0 hole before they even got back in the dugout – thanks to a Kris Bryant homer and an Addison Russell double (that was really more of an error). Before Cleveland could even start chipping away, Russell bombed his grand slam and by the time Cleveland got on the board, the game was all but decided.
Anthony Rizzo put the Indians away for good with his two-run homer in the ninth.
The series wraps up Wednesday as Corey Kluber takes on Kyle Hendricks in the decisive Game 7.
