Cubs Hammel to Miss Next Start due to Elbow Tightness

With the Chicago Cubs still a week away from playing any meaningful baseball, they’ve decided to scratch SP Jason Hammel from Friday’s start against the Cincinnati Reds.

Mooney did follow up his original tweet, by stating that the tightness was not enough to keep him out of a start had it been the playoffs, leading us to believe that this is more of a precautionary move by Chicago. The Cubs have yet to name a starter for Friday.
