If the old adage, “Defense wins Championships” holds any bit of truth, then the Seattle Seahawks must be on cloud nine, heading into the Super Bowl. Seattle boasts the league’s number one defense both in terms of total yardage and points allowed. If there is one defense this season that has a chance at stopping the Denver Broncos offense, this would be it.

With Peyton Manning setting numerous single season records, and the entire offensive unit doing much of the same, the Broncos record matched their offensive production, finishing as one of the top teams in the league. Even on a bad day, the Broncos still score more points than the average teams in the league, which means this offense really can’t be beat.

ACC Basketball Season Tips Off!

With the new additions, the ACC has fast become the premiere conference in the nation. In fact, Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski, the coach with the most wins in NCAA Division I history said on May 24 that these new squads meant that the ACC would “be the best conference in the history of the game.” Next year, the best will get better with the addition of last season’s National Champion, the Louisville Cardinals along with their Coach Rick Pitino.

The BCS National Championship Football game matchup is set for Monday, January 6 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA between #1 Florida State Seminoles (ACC Champs) and #2 Auburn Tigers (SEC Champs). Not only will college football fans be saying good riddance to the entire BCS system, the BCS Coach’s Trophy will be expiring as well. Beginning in the 2014-15 college football season, we will no longer see a Crystal given to College Football’s Champion.
